We currently have an opening for Mechanical Engineering Aide (Temp).
RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an intermediate level position operating under limited supervision with responsibility for a variety of moderately complex tasks to support Engineers. Updates and maintains various engineering, manufacturing, and/or lighting documentation via the engineering module. May assist Engineers with fabricating, assembling and testing hardware for prototypes from schematics, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions; may perform calibration checks on instruments; may troubleshoot engineering systems to determine cause and implement remedy; may conduct detailed engineering tests and experimental testing; may solve mechanical, optical, or electronic problems involved in the operation of the product; may assist with general laboratory work; may plan the sequence of operations for piece parts and assembly master routings and determine time standards; may require the ability to use electronic theory and machine tools; may require operating familiarity with CAD; may perform analysis to determine most cost-effective method of manufacture. Familiarity with optical test equipment, and various personal computer tools required.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a two year technical degree and one year experience in design drafting in technical field. Minimum one year experience with PRO-E Wildfire 3.0 and Intralink. Performs a variety of routine technical tasks to support engineers. Updates and maintains various engineering, manufacturing, and optical documentation.
Prefer someone who understands general engineering documentation like BOMs and Engineering Change Orders.
