We currently have an opening for a Lean Specialist.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position the Lean Specialist is responsible for planning, analyzing, prioritizing, coordinating and facilitating all Lean efforts within the Engineered Components business unit (including customers and suppliers). Determines the scope, objectives, cost and schedule for Lean projects. Presents to management, customers and suppliers the company's Lean strategy, objectives and projects. Educates and trains employees in the use of continuous improvement tools as needed to ensure successful completion of the lean objectives and projects. Organizes and guides Lean and AIW teams to ensure that results are achieved to meet project objectives. Oversees and coordinates the re-writing of procedures, work instructions, and records to document lean procedures in compliance with standards and regulations.
The Lean Specialist is responsible for increasing the ratio of value to non-value, and eliminating waste in the overall supply chain for a defined product family from start to finish, and, for ensuring that the value stream meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Additional duties include:
- Administer best practices to eliminate non-value added/non-essential activities
- Use Value Stream Mapping and Lean tools
- Assist in establishing work standards
- Cross-train in other functional related areas
- Involved in continuous improvements
- Implement improvement ideas
REQUIREMENTS
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with various departments including, engineering, quality, operations, safety, and environmental.
Excellent PC skills, with a working knowledge and ability to use commercial applications including Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED
A four year degree and SME Lean Certification preferred.
