We currently have an opening for a Material Planner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With limited supervision, plans material availability in synchronization with the final assembly build schedule. Plans and monitors the flow of material from the receipt of demand through the manufacturing process. Reviews order promising activities to ensure level capacity demand. Provides order administration with status and delivery information. Identifies and removes obstacles that will hinder schedule performance. Reschedules the shop floor as required to meet lead time requirements. Capable of implementing planning/database requirements for new parts. Insures the integrity of the MRP database. Maintains recommended inventory levels for assigned parts and manages the planning information to realize objectives at the least cost. Implements supply and demand changes, and incorporates engineering changes in a timely fashion. Makes recommendations to improve product velocity, lower aggregate inventory levels, and/or reduce overall costs. Must provide excellent customer service, internal and external.

Proficient in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies and modifiers, product structures, routings, shop floor control, and product family manufacturing strategies. Should be knowledgeable of demand management, purchasing, and stockroom techniques. Should be aware of cost accounting requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Requires a two year degree and minimum of five years of material planning experience. (Manufacturing scheduling experience may be substituted as deemed applicable). Excellent oral, and good written communication skills. Must have strong attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple priorities.

BA or BS degree and/or APICS Certification preferred.
