Standard cut-to-dimension filter specifications and inspection creiteria for Nightshield filter material
Korry offers Night Vision Compatible Filters cut to specific standard formats. These cut-to-dimension formats include squares and rectangles (with cornered radii) as well as circles. We offer these cut-to-dimension formats with dimensional tolerances of 0.13 mm (0.005"). Furthermore, the thickness and thickness tolerance of most standard Nightshield filters are available from 0.76 mm to 2.54 mm as described in Table 1 (English units are in parentheses).

Table 1: Standard thickness and tolerance

Thickness   Tolerance

0.76 mm (0.03")   -0.13 mm/+ 0.26 mm
(-0.005"/+0.01")

1.02 mm (0.04")   -0.13 mm/+ 0.26 mm
(-0.005"/+0.01")

1.52 mm (0.06")   +/- 0.26 mm (+/- 0.01")

2.03 mm (0.08")   +/- 0.26 mm (+/- 0.01")

2.54 mm (0.10")   +/- 0.26 mm (+/- 0.01")

The inspection criteria depend on the intended application. For example, a filter intended to cover a floodlight component is inspected to Korry's General Test Procedure 54 (GTP 54). On the other hand, filters used over a display, requiring high image quality properties, are inspected to Korry's GTP-52. If you intend to cut filters from a standard cast sheet at your facility, Korry's Dash 80 inspection criteria are generally the best option. Korry will supply the inspection documents upon request.

Dash 80 - Assigned to filter sheets where the customer plans to cut small filters

GTP-52 - Assigned to filter sheets for High Image Quality Applications (Displays)

GTP-54 - Assigned to filter sheets for Floodlight, Utillity Lights or Tasklight Applications
