The following table provides technical sheets in PDF format. The data include photopic transmission, color, and NR values (MIL-STD 3009, formerly MIL-L-85762A) for application-specific filters within a normal range of properties. In addition, these materials may be enhanced by the addition of textured anti-glare surfaces, antireflective coatings, and transparent-conductive indium-tin-oxide (ITO) coatings.
We offer a large, off-the-shelf selection of Nightshield filter products to satisfy a wide range of customer requirements, including dimensional specifications for virtually any illuminated device. We can also provide complete legends—integrating a Nightshield filter and nomenclature—to further simplify your retrofits.
For customers who prefer to cut or mill Nightshield filters in house, we offer sheets and other stock. For guidelines on cutting and milling Nightshield plastic material, click here (PDF, 31 KB). For information about engineered sheets designed for machining LED ring filters (NVIS Green A and B), click here (PDF, 40 KB).
The selection of an appropriate night-vision filter strongly depends upon the type of light source. The following pages review the emission characteristics of incandescent, LED, and fluorescent sources and suggest appropriate night-vision filters for each one:
Incandescent light sources
LED light sources
Fluorescent light sources
