Nightshield Anti-Reflection Coatings
This two-page publication discusses various aspects of anti-reflection (AR) coatings, which Korry uses to reduce sunlight reflections from 4% to less than 1%, thereby enhancing the contrast and daytime viewability of the display. Topics addressed include viewing-angle sensitivity, cleanability, and qualification for flight-deck applications.

High-Performance Optical Plastics for Display Applications
This paper was presented at the Spring 1996 SID.

Abstract
Current optical glass materials used to fabricate display contrast enhancement filters are limited either by the optical features or by the physical/mechanical properties. A contrast enhancement filter material based on a rich dye and polymer chemistry has been developed that offers considerable range of optical features with sufficient thermal, solar, abrasion, and chemical resistance for military and commercial avionics display applications. The inherent properties commonly associated with plastics (e.g. light weight, high toughness) result in a filter material more adaptable to the user’s environment than the typical glass filters.
