Control Products

Korry Control Products feature industry leading HMI performance that provide high-reliability control and display solutions for flight deck and crew stations in the Aerospace and Defense market.

Korry has been a trusted name in human-machine interface (HMI) solutions since 1937 when the company created the first lighted cockpit controls for the developing military and commercial aircraft industry. The following figure shows Korry HMI solutions beginning with the Boeing 307 Stratoliner that entered service in 1938 to the Gulfstream G500 that entered service in 2018.

Our core competencies with regards to these applications include HMI solutions that define the look, feel and performance of the product and open architected solutions that support safety and reliability of the product. We strive to integrate our expertise in HMI, optics, hardware and software into every Korry product.

Korry is the leading provider of Utility Control Systems with systems fielded on the Boeing 787 and 777X, Airbus A220 and Gulfstream G500/600 aircraft amongst others. These products are also available for ruggedized applications such as the suite we provide for the US Marine Corps LCAC craft.

These utility control solutions provide the operator interface to various systems within the flight deck or crew station. HMI controls and lighting performance are incorporated into the system to deliver a consistently superior user experience. The HMI controls include fully tactile devices such as pushbutton, rotary and toggle switches. Korry touchscreen controllers can be integrated into the package to provide seamless control and monitoring of multiple systems.

Korry panel interface modules redundantly monitor and communicate all switch positions within a control panel or integrated assembly (such as an overhead panel). The UCS product provides both digital and discrete redundant interfaces to the aircraft or vehicle. A Korry Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) is used to consolidate signals for scalable solutions. Digital protocols include ARINC-429, ARINC-825 and MIL-STD-1553.

Korry digitally controls the daytime, nighttime and NVIS luminance levels when required for various zones within the flight deck or crew station as part of our UCS offering. This enables uniform and crisp lighting performance throughout the flight deck from control panel to control panel and lighting zone to lighting zone.

Korry Touchscreen HMI Control Solutions

Korry is a leading manufacturer of Control Panels for the Aerospace and Defense market with thousands of these units fielded in large commercial aircraft, business jets, fighter aircraft, military transport aircraft, rotorcraft and land vehicles.

Applications include Flight Director and Flight Guidance, HUD Control, Weather Radar, ATC/TCAS, TAWS, Master Caution and Warning, Fire Suppression and Smoke Detection, Commander Control, Turret Power Control and others.

Our Control Panels integrate various HMI controls and feature Korry LED illuminated pushbutton switches, knobs and optical components for superior lighting performance. NVIS compatible solutions featuring Korry Nightshield technology are provided when required. Our Control Panels provide the crew interface to various end user systems via redundant digital and discrete communications. Protocols include ARINC-429, ARINC-825, MIL-STD-1553, RS-422 and others.

Korry’s Integrated Switch Panel products offer a variety of flexible and configurable solutions for meeting panel and bezel requirements. They can be found on many military and commercial applications. We offer four proprietary switching options enabling us to meet varying requirements and these options can be used in conjunction with each other if needed.

Korry’s Integrated Switch Panel products provide premium solutions that are designed for rugged applications and they are used in the most stringent conditions. Capabilities such as NVIS and secure lighting, TEMPEST compatibility and NBC survivability are available.

Four different switching technologies focus on solving our customer’s most rugged requirements with our 490, 492, 493 and 496 product lines. These products are found on many military aircraft, rotorcraft, land vehicles, dismounted soldier equipment, and commercial aircraft.

Features of these four types of integrated switch panel products include:

490 Membrane Switch Technology
This solution is for applications that need to withstand submersible or NBC conditions. It integrates our proprietary overlay with dome type switches. Area lighting and sunlight readable indications are available.

492 Switch Technology
Area illuminated panels with individual keycap switches utilize this technology. Individual switching with a life of one million actuations is provided.

493 Encapsulated Dome Switch Technology
Integration of self-contained switch assemblies enables packaging of individual key caps and switches where space is limited. It enables configurable options for derivative switch panels. Area lighting and sunlight readable indications are available.

496 Switch Technology
One or two-pole single ground switching with sunlight readable full and split display individual key caps are available with this switch technology. The keycap travel is twice what is available with conventional dome switching.
